Surgery Coding Trainer - Medical Coding - 7+ Years -

Chennai/Kochi/Bangalore

We are looking for an experienced Surgery Coding Trainer with expertise in Surgery Coding, Facility Coding, and Medical Coding Quality. This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about developing coding talent, driving coding accuracy, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client-specific guidelines.

Responsibilities

- Conducting training programs for new hires and experienced coders on Surgery Coding and coding guidelines.
- Delivering training on CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, modifiers, Same Day Surgery (SDS), Outpatient Surgery, and Facility Coding.
- Evaluating trainee performance through assessments, coding audits, and structured feedback sessions.
- Identifying knowledge gaps and providing coaching to improve coding quality, productivity, and accuracy.
- Preparing training content, SOPs, presentations, and coding reference materials while ensuring compliance with CMS, AMA, payer-specific, and client guidelines.

Requirements

- 7+ years of experience in Medical Coding with strong expertise in Surgery Coding.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Training, Quality Analysis, Coding Audits, Team Leadership, or Mentoring.
- Hands-on experience in Facility Coding, Same Day Surgery (SDS),



and Outpatient Surgery; Profee Coding experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, modifiers, and coding compliance.
- Active AAPC/AHIMA certification such as CPC, CCS, CIC, or COC.
