Job Description for ESC Features Controls Engineer

Lead Brake performance Vehicle Dynamics attribute -Handling, Ride comfort, Steering Emergency Handling testing activity with very strong exposure in below activity
o
Able to perform Objective Subjective Brake feel performance understand technical parameter involve in Brake feel calculation.
o
Objective Ride comfort measurement in Proving Ground / public road
o
Capability to understand all KC, Virtual, Physical test results and able to set the target
o
Should have good understanding of Benchmark vehicle and able to asses Subjective/Objective vehicle dynamics attribute in competitive vehicle.
o
Excellent understanding of Homologation test for India and Asia region vehicle specific requirement for Brake, steering, Handling vehicle architecture (ADR Ground clearance).
o
Should have strong understanding of Car/SUV/eVehicle Brake/Chassis architecture
o
Candidate should have strong skill of Root Cause analysis of Brake performance, stopping distance, Brake Feel, Parking Brake performance etc.
o
Should be able to perform all Quality/Homologation specific Assesment of Brake, Suspension, Steering component.
o
Must have excellent driving Dynamics skill to evaluate vehicle subjectively Objectively
o
Candidate should have good understanding of all instrument used in vehicle Dynamics test evaluation for ride, handling, steering and Brake test
o
should lead coordinate with various global team/Functional team for Vehicle dynamics discussion, target setting,



root cause analysis etc
o
Candidate should have experience in performance evaluation of ABS/ESC and able to set target for ABS/ESC, capable to evaluate Low Mu/High Mu performance.
Essential:

Excellent skill in performing Ride comfort, Handling Steering, Brake performance Assesment

Good Physical experience in RCA of vehicle dynamics performance issues related to ride comfort, handling, vehicle pull, brake performance issue etc

Good Knowledge Hands on experience in Chassis Vehicle Dynamics domain

Experienced in tuning the Damper/Steering/Tyre selection/Spring/ARB selection etc

Excellent understanding of Brake system architecture and contribution of different parameter in performance.

Strong and complete understanding of INDIAN/EUROPIAN Brake homologation test requirement for ECE R13H, Brake assist, emergency Brake assist, iTPMS, ESC, ABS

Should be Flexible in travel across country proving ground and overseas based on requirement.

Positive knowledge in static analytical calculations and engineering fundamentals.

Good communication skills and interpersonal skills

Exposure to active suspension system, Low rolling resistance tyre development

Good knowledge in different ISO standards with respect to ride, routine / emergency handling Steering performance and usage of Steering Robot, RT IMU etc.
Tool Knowledge:

MATLAB, Simulink, Vbox, CANalyzer, LMS
Additional:

Experience in full vehicle level simulation, Hard point kinematics finalization

Exposure to Dynamic analysis and signal processing
