Responsibilities
Core QA Skills
- Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 5+ years of experience in a software engineering or quality engineering organization.
- Experience in release testing, regression testing, integration testing, and defect triage.
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, test planning, test case design, and defect lifecycle management.
- Ability to analyze requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Test Automation
- Intermediate experience with browser automation using JavaScript/TypeScript and any of the following tools:
- Playwright
- WebdriverIO (WDIO)
- Selenium
- Ability to create, execute, and maintain automated test suites.
API Testing
- Robust API testing fundamentals using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, Karate, Playwright API, or equivalent.
- Ability to validate request/response payloads, authentication mechanisms, error handling, and API contracts.
- Experience with RESTful services and JSON data structures.
Programming Skills
- Good Javscript/ Java programming skills with the ability to develop and maintain automated test scripts.
Source Control & Development Practices
- Basic experience with source and version control tools (GitHub, GitLab, etc.).
- Familiarity with committing code, creating branches, raising pull requests, resolving merge conflicts, and participating in code reviews.
CI/CD & DevOps
- Understanding of CI/CD concepts and practices.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions,
Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar CI/CD tools.
- Ability to execute and troubleshoot automated test runs within deployment pipelines.
Soft Skills
- Robust communication and collaboration skills to clarify requirements, discuss testing strategies, and effectively report findings.
- Ability to work closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus
