Position: AM Purchase (Stamping Experience)

Exp: 8+ years

Location : Chennai - Vallam

Job Description:

- Manage procurement of stamping, sheet metal, fabricated, machined, and purchased components.
- Identify, develop, and evaluate new suppliers for stamping and sheet metal parts.
- Handle end-to-end sourcing activities including RFQ, quotation analysis, negotiation, supplier selection, and purchase order release.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, annual cost reduction, and long-term supply agreements.
- Ensure timely procurement to meet production schedules and avoid line stoppages.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams for procurement requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance on quality, delivery, cost,



and service levels.
- Lead supplier audits, vendor development, localization, and capacity assessments.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and process improvements.
- Resolve supplier-related quality and delivery issues through corrective and preventive actions.
- Track inventory levels and optimize procurement to reduce excess stock while ensuring material availability.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, contractual obligations, and statutory requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports, procurement dashboards, and purchasing KPIs for management review.

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of stamping processes, sheet metal manufacturing, tooling, and fabrication.
- Experience in sourcing automotive stamping components and direct materials.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and cost analysis skills.
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, IATF 16949, and automotive quality standards.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/BAAN/Infor) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualification

- Education: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Production/Automobile) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 612 years in direct procurement/purchase of stamping or sheet metal components within the automotive or auto component industry
