DRG Auditor Healthcare (Medical Coding) 2+ Years - Remote

Summary

We are looking for an experienced DRG Auditor with a strong background in Inpatient Medical Coding and DRG Auditing to join a growing healthcare services organization. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in reviewing inpatient medical records, validating DRG assignments, and ensuring coding accuracy in line with industry standards. Candidates with mandatory coding certifications and exposure to IPPS, ICD-10-CM/PCS, and 3M software will be preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Reviewing inpatient medical records to validate the accuracy of assigned diagnosis, procedure codes, and DRG.
2. Ensuring clinical documentation is supporting all assigned diagnoses and procedures with the required specificity.
3. Verifying discharge disposition, POA indicators, and compliance with IPPS guidelines.
4. Completing audits while consistently achieving defined quality and productivity targets.
5. Following standard operating procedures, project protocols, and quality guidelines without deviation.
6. Identifying coding trends, escalating quality concerns, and recommending corrective actions.
7. Updating productivity trackers, clarification logs, and audit reports on a daily basis.
8. Collaborating with Team Leads and Managers to resolve coding-related queries.
9. Mentoring coding professionals by providing constructive feedback and coding education.
10. Maintaining compliance with HIPAA, OIG, and organizational information security standards.

Requirements

1. Minimum 2 years of experience in IP DRG Coding or DRG Auditing.
2.



Experience in Healthcare, Medical Coding, or Revenue Cycle Management industry.
3. Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, MS-DRG, POA, Discharge Disposition, and IPPS methodology.
4. Mandatory certification in CCS, CIC, or CPC.
5. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred) or Bachelor's degree in Science.
6. Hands-on experience with 3M Coding Software and NLP tools.
7. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
8. Strong analytical ability, communication skills, and attention to detail.
