Position Title: Module Lead

Location: Chennai

Reporting To: Engineering Manager

Department: Software Development Centre Engineering

Objective: We are looking for an experienced Module Lead with 5-10 years of experience to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js with the Fastify framework, cloud-native development on AWS, and relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL. Experience with PHP will be considered an added advantage. The role involves leading technical initiatives, mentoring team members, and collaborating closely with Product, QA, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Accountability:

- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Node.js (Fastify Framework).
- Architect and implement high-performance applications with a focus on scalability, security, and reliability.
- Mentor and guide development teams by conducting code reviews and promoting engineering best practices.
- Design and optimize database schemas, queries, indexing strategies, and data models in MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Build and integrate backend services supporting business-critical workflows and transactional systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Drive cloud-native development and deployment using AWS services.
- Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance optimizations.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical roadmaps and strategic decisions.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, security guidelines, and CI/CD best practices.

Competencies:

- Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Extensive experience with the Fas fy Framework (experience with Express.js or NestJS is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM,



CloudWatch, Secrets Manager, and Lambda.
- Strong exper se in MySQL and PostgreSQL, including query opmiza on and database performance tuning.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent debugging, analy cal, and problem-solving skills. Experience leading teams or modules and coordina ng technical deliverables.

Technical Skills

Good to Have

- Working knowledge of PHP and experience maintaining or integrating PHP-based applica ons.
- Experience with Elastic search for search and indexing capabilities.
- Familiarity with Redis caching and opmization on techniques.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS.
- Experience with event-driven architectures, queues, or messaging systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, BullMQ, AWS SQS).
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and application security best practices.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
