Job Description (JD)
IT & Network Administrator
Department: Information Technology (IT)
Reporting To: GM Operations / Head Administration
Location: Head Office & Project Sites
Job Summary
The IT & Network Administrator is responsible for managing the organization's complete IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, desktops, laptops, email systems, data backup, cybersecurity, software support, AutoCAD installation, ERP support, CCTV, biometric systems, and IT asset management. The role ensures uninterrupted business operations by maintaining secure, reliable, and effective IT services across all office and project locations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. IT Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, workstations, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
- Perform hardware troubleshooting, upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
- Install and configure Windows operating systems and required business applications.
- Maintain IT equipment for Head Office and project sites.
2. Server Administration & Backup
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Servers.
- Monitor server performance and health.
- Manage server storage, shared folders, and user permissions.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly server backups.
- Restore data whenever required.
- Maintain disaster recovery plans and backup documentation.
- Monitor server logs and resolve issues proactively.
3. Network Administration
- Configure and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Ensure uninterrupted internet connectivity.
- Monitor network utilization and bandwidth.
- Troubleshoot network failures and connectivity issues.
- Maintain secure remote access for project locations.
4. Microsoft 365 / Email Administration
- Create, modify, and delete official email accounts.
- Manage Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Configure email on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Maintain email backups and archive mailboxes.
- Troubleshoot email delivery and synchronization issues.
- Manage user permissions, groups, and shared mailboxes.
5. Data Backup & Recovery
- Schedule automatic backups for servers and critical user data.
- Maintain backup logs and recovery records.
- Test backup restoration periodically.
- Ensure business continuity through secure backup management.
6. Software Installation & Licensing
- Install and maintain licensed software including:
- AutoCAD
- Microsoft Office
- ERP Applications
- HRMS
- Accounting Software
- PDF and utility applications
- Antivirus software
- Maintain software license records and renewals.
- Resolve software-related issues.
7. AutoCAD & Engineering Software Support
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot AutoCAD.
- Support engineering teams with software installation and licensing.
- Coordinate software upgrades and version management.
- Ensure compatibility with project requirements.
8. User Support (Helpdesk)
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support.
- Resolve desktop, laptop, printer, software, and network issues.
- Maintain IT service request logs.
- Support users remotely and onsite.
- Minimize downtime through timely issue resolution.
9. IT Asset Management
- Maintain inventory of:
- Desktops
- Laptops
- Printers
- Network Devices
- Servers
- UPS
- Accessories
- Track asset allocation and returns.
- Maintain warranty, AMC, and vendor records.
10. CCTV, Biometric & Access Control
- Maintain CCTV surveillance systems.
- Support biometric attendance devices.
- Manage access control systems.
- Coordinate repairs and AMC support.
11. Cybersecurity
- Maintain antivirus and endpoint security.
- Configure firewall security policies.
- Monitor unauthorized access attempts.
- Ensure operating systems and applications are updated with security patches.
- Conduct periodic vulnerability assessments.
12. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain IT policies and SOPs.
- Prepare network diagrams and server documentation.
- Maintain backup reports, asset registers, software license records, and user access logs.
- Submit monthly MIS reports covering IT performance, asset status, backup completion, and support activities.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
Preferred Certifications
- CCNA
- Microsoft Certified (MCSA/MCSE or equivalent)
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- Microsoft 365 Administrator (preferred)
Experience
- Minimum 1-5 years of experience in IT Infrastructure, Network Administration, and Server Management.
- Experience in EPC, Construction, Manufacturing, or Corporate organizations is preferred.
