Role & responsibilities

Machine Setup and Operation

- Set up and operate CNC milling machines with precision, utilizing Siemens and HSS control systems.
- Prepare, load, and align essential tools, fixtures, and materials according to detailed job orders and specifications.
- Execute machine calibration and initial test runs to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
- Monitor machine operations continuously to detect and resolve any malfunctions or deviations promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and operational guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.

CNC Programming and Tool Path Management

- Create, edit, and optimize 2D CNC programs for various machining operations.
- Verify the correctness and efficiency of CNC programs and tool paths before initiating production runs.
- Adjust cutting parameters, speeds, and feeds as required for different materials and desired surface finishes.
- Implement tool offset adjustments and compensation settings to achieve precise machining outcomes.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to refine programs for complex geometries and new product introductions.

Quality Control and Inspection

- Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;) specifications.
- Conduct thorough first-piece inspections to validate dimensional accuracy and adherence to design specifications.




- Perform in-process quality checks and ensure dimensional accuracy is maintained throughout the entire production batch.
- Utilize various measuring instruments, including Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, and Height Gauges, for exact measurements.
- Document inspection results and maintain detailed quality records for traceability and compliance.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

- Perform routine maintenance checks and minor troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure continuous operation.
- Identify and report any mechanical or electrical issues with machines or tooling to the maintenance department.
- Maintain all cutting tools in proper working condition, including sharpening and replacement as necessary.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the work area and machinery.
- Participate in preventive maintenance schedules to extend machine lifespan and reduce downtime.

Documentation and Reporting

- Accurately record production details, including cycle times, material usage, and output quantities.
- Report any production deviations, quality issues, or machine malfunctions promptly to supervisors.
- Maintain clear and concise logs of machine settings, program changes, and inspection data.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on processes and machine performance.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company standards and regulatory requirements.
