Role Responsibilities

Senior Manager, Asset Management, Hyderabad, TS/Pune, MH

As an Asset Management Process Owner at Western Union, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving global Software and Hardware Asset Management (SAM & HAM) programs. You will drive the end-to-end asset lifecycle management strategy, ensuring compliance, cost optimization, and operational efficiency across the organization. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, procurement, finance, and vendors to establish standardized processes, enforce governance frameworks, and ensure accurate asset tracking and reporting. You will also lead audits, mitigate risks related to licensing and asset utilization, and identify opportunities for process enhancements that support business objectives on a global scale.

- As Practice Owner, you will be responsible for success of the Asset Management program ensuring it maximizes business value of IT assets.
- You will lead a team that will ensure flawless process execution.
- You will enable comprehensive and accurate real-time data and reporting allowing informed decision making. Under your guidance, the practice will provide visibility and control over the IT estate and will ensure effective management of the full asset lifecycle end to end.
- You will partner with the Service Management platform team to enable processes in ServiceNow. You will ensure the platform s asset management and CMDB capabilities support effective and efficient ITAM program execution.
- You will implement a program that controls and optimizes costs across the asset lifecycle, manages risks, ensures governance and compliance (regulatory, contractual, licensing), avoids unbudgeted costs.
- The practice will establish effective license position, End-of-Life,



End-of-Support processes and will improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- You will partner with the Service Management platform team to enable processes in ServiceNow. You will ensure the platform s asset management capabilities support effective and efficient ITAM program execution.
- You will create automated and sustainable software asset management operations, enhance, automate software governance, and reduce manual effort that leads to errors.
- You will monitor risks, issues and overall health of the program, escalating risks to the sponsors and IT leadership to raise awareness and provide recommendations to resolve issues.
- You will define Critical Success Factors and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the processes and will track practice performance. You will communicate outcomes through monthly Management Review meetings.
- You will set tactical plan for execution of strategic objectives and drive activities to ensure effective process management and adoption across the organization through regular interactions with delivery partners and other stakeholders.

Role Requirements

- For this role, you will have 15+ years of experience implementing and leading IT Asset Management function.
- You will have a bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science or related discipline.
- You should possess comprehensive understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and governance frameworks like ITIL and COBIT, with relevant certifications being advantageous.




- You will have strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills. Strong business writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills in English language with ability to effectively communicate with peers and executive leadership is a must.
- You should be able to quickly gain new knowledge and to remain current on new developments in the industry knowledge.
- Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and ITOM Visibility, SAM Pro, HAM Pro, IBM License Metric Tool (ILMT), BigFix Inventory.
- You have effective organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines.
- You have integrity within a professional environment.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead process improvements, ensure policy compliance, and influence stakeholder adoption of standardized practices.
- Detail-Oriented: Robust focus on compliance and process quality, analytical, problem-solving, data analysis and reporting skills.
- Adaptability: Agile in responding to changing business needs and committed to continuous process improvement.
- Additionally: Experience operating and governing a managed service environment, Lean or Six Sigma certification will be your advantage.
