Role & responsibilities

. 6+ years of hands-on experience administering Apache Kafka/Confluent Kafka clusters in large-scale production environments.

2. Expertise in Kafka cluster deployment, configuration, upgrades, capacity planning, and performance tuning.

3. Solid knowledge of Kafka Brokers, ZooKeeper/KRaft, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, MirrorMaker, and Control Center.

4. Experience managing Kafka topics, partitions, replication, ACLs, SSL/TLS security, authentication, and authorization.

5. Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues including broker failures, consumer lag, under-replicated partitions, and replication bottlenecks.

6. Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, or Confluent Control Center.

Strong Linux/Unix administration skills with expertise in automation using Shell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.

8. Experience supporting 24x7 production environments, performing root cause analysis (RCA), and driving incident resolution.

9. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, and distributed systems architecture is highly desirable.

10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to ensure platform stability and operational excellence.

11. Preferred: Banking/Financial Services experience, Confluent Kafka certification
