Position Title: QA Engineer - Automation

Requirement:

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 58 years of experience in both manual and automation testing. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in WebDriverIO or Playwright using JavaScript/TypeScript and should actively contribute to sprint deliverables by performing functional validation, developing automation scripts, integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring high-quality software releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Grooming, Story Refinement, and Estimation sessions.
- Analyze business requirements and prepare test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform Functional, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Sanity, and End-to-End testing for sprint features.
- Validate defect fixes, perform impact analysis, and provide QA sign-off.
- Execute cross-browser and cross-platform validations where required.
- Collaborate with Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts to ensure quality deliverables.

Automation Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using WebDriverIO or Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Develop automation scripts for new features and maintain existing automation suites.
- Enhance reusable automation components and framework capabilities.
- Execute automation suites and analyze failures to identify application issues versus script issues.
- Improve automation coverage across sprint features and regression suites.
- Review automation code and follow engineering best practices.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Support continuous testing and automated regression execution during deployments.
- Monitor pipeline execution results and troubleshoot automation failures.
- Perform automation result analysis and provide detailed execution reports.




- Estimate automation effort and contribute to sprint planning.
- Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency through automation.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve release quality and reduce regression risks.
- Mentor junior team members on automation best practices and testing methodologies.

Mandatory Skills

- 58 years of experience in Software Testing.
- Strong experience in Manual Testing (Functional, Regression, Integration, Smoke, Sanity, End-to-End Testing).
- Hands-on experience with WebDriverIO or Playwright.
- Solid programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience in automation framework development and maintenance.
- Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with JIRA or similar defect management tools.
- Experience in automation execution, debugging, result analysis, and root cause analysis.
- Experience in effort estimation and sprint planning.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- API testing and automation using Postman, Karate and Playwright API.
- SQL/database validation.
- Mobile automation exposure using Appium or WebDriverIO.
- Cross-browser testing experience.
- Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, or similar version control tools.
- BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or LambdaTest.
- AI-assisted testing tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor AI, Factory.AI, Rovo, etc.).
- Retail/eCommerce domain experience.

Responsibilities Beyond Execution

- Contribute to test strategy and automation roadmap discussions.
- Improve automation stability and execution efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Drive quality throughout the SDLC by adopting Shift-Left testing practices.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong ownership, accountability, and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
