Role: Automation/Devops Engineer
What youll do
Build & deploy
- Build agent components — tools, MCP servers, prompts, orchestration logic — to specification.
- Develop deterministic automations (e.g., ServiceNow flows, integrations, scripts) that remove manual effort — often the fastest, lowest-risk path to takeout.
- Write clean, tested Python and use agentic SDLC tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor) to move quickly.
- Integrate solutions with client systems — APIs, ITSM, data sources — and deploy through team CI/CD.
Operate & observe
- Monitor the health of deployed agents and automations; run evaluations and help triage issues.
- Build and maintain dashboards, telemetry, and runbooks.
- Help tune alerting and reduce noise; automate routine remediation.
Across the role
- Document what you build so it can be operated and handed off cleanly.
- Surface improvement and automation opportunities you notice — feeding the team’s innovation cadence.
- Work within client data-handling, security, and gated-autonomy rules at all times.
- Collaborate closely with client engineers and your PwC pod.
Your toolkit
Exposure to several of the following, with developing depth in at least one:
- Languages: Python (primary), plus SQL and Bash.
- Agentic: LLM application patterns (agents, RAG, prompting), MCP, an agent framework.
- Automation: ServiceNow (Flow Designer, IntegrationHub) or a comparable iPaaS.
- Cloud & delivery: one of AWS / Azure / GCP, Git, CI/CD, containers.
- Observability: a monitoring or tracing tool such as Datadog,
Grafana/Prometheus, Splunk, Langfuse, or LangSmith.
What you’ll bring
- ~3+ years in software, automation, SRE, or related engineering (strong recent graduates with demonstrable project work considered).
- Solid Python and core engineering fundamentals — version control, testing, APIs.
- Exposure to building or operating LLM/agentic applications, and genuine enthusiasm to go deep.
- Ability to work embedded with a client team, with a bias to ship and comfort with ambiguity.
- Bachelor’s in CS/engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- ServiceNow certification, a cloud certification, or relevant agentic/ML coursework.
- Experience in a client-facing, consulting, or managed services setting.
- Public technical work — open source, writing, or projects.
What success looks like (first 6–12 months)
- You’ve shipped production code or automations the client relies on.
- You’ve chosen — and started going deep in — a discipline: Build & Deploy, Operations, or Observability & SRE.
- Client engineers seek you out as a dependable pair of hands.
You’ll thrive here if you like building things that go live, you’d rather own an outcome than a queue, and you want to be at the frontier of agents in production.
