Database Administrator
Minimum 8+ years of experience in DBA role with Oracle database administration and knowledge on other databases
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle databases
Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing and production usage
Performs ongoing tuning of the database instances
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Plans and implements backup and recovery of the Oracle database
Controls migrations of programs, database changes and reference data changes through the development life cycle
Implements and enforces security for all of the Databases
Performs database re-organizations as required to assist performance and ensure 100% uptime of the database
Puts standards in place to ensure that all application design and code is produced with proper integrity, security and performance. The DBA will perform reviews on the design and code frequently to ensure the standards are being adhered to.
Evaluates releases of Oracle and its tools, and third party products to ensure that all products/systems are running the products that are most appropriate
Provides technical support to application development teams




Enforces and maintains database constraints to ensure integrity of the database
Administers all database objects, including tables, clusters, indexes, views, sequences, packages and procedures
Assists with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects
Troubleshoots with problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools
create current database users as required adhering to security policies
Generating ER diagrams and scripts
Table space management
Good team management skills
Good interpersonal, communication and planning skills along with critical thinking and good decision making abilities
Expected to perform duties without direct supervision and will be self-directed in terms of time and workload management
Cutting-edge and keen on learning and implementing new practices
Thorough database administration knowledge on Oracle
Very good knowledge on database performance optimization and taming
Very good knowledge data modelling and database design
Strong SQL/ PLSQL knowledge
Good knowledge on managing other database like MySQL, Mongo
