Role Overview

PRMAI is looking for a Senior SQL Developer to design, build, and optimize the database systems that power our Procure-to-Pay and Source-to-Contract platform. This is a hands-on role for someone with deep expertise in MS SQL Server and MySQL who can take ownership of database architecture, performance, and reliability at SaaS scale. Prior experience in a SaaS or multi-tenant product environment is a strong plus, given the transactional volume and data integrity demands of a procurement platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain complex, scalable database systems using MS SQL Server and MySQL to support PRMAI's P2P and S2C modules.
- Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers to support application development, integrations, and reporting needs.
- Perform database backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations to safeguard data integrity and platform availability.
- Manage database security by implementing role-based access control and data privacy safeguards appropriate for enterprise procurement data.
- Tune and optimize database performance, including indexing strategy, query plans, and resolution of slow-running queries in production.
- Define and enforce database change management and version control processes across environments.
- Partner closely with product and engineering teams to design database solutions that scale with application functionality and customer growth.




- Conduct thorough database testing and validation to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and referential integrity.
- Proactively monitor database systems for performance, reliability, and security issues, and drive timely resolution.
- Mentor junior database developers and contribute to raising the engineering team's database standards.

Key Skills

- Strong hands-on proficiency in MS SQL Server and MySQL.
- Advanced SQL programming skills, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
- Proven experience with database backup, restore, and recovery processes.
- Expertise in designing and managing indexes, temporary tables, and query execution plans.
- Strong grasp of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
- Solid understanding of database security, access control, and data privacy best practices.
- Familiarity with database change management and version control practices (e.g., Git-based migration scripts).
- Exposure to cloud-hosted databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, or similar) is an added advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a SQL Developer or in a similar database engineering role.
- Experience working in a SaaS, product-based environment is a solid plus.
- Certification in MS SQL Server or related technologies is a plus.
- Prior exposure to procurement, supply chain, or ERP domain data is an added advantage.
