Job Description
Role Brief: Clean Harbors is looking for an Instructional Designer/ eLearning developer to join their safety conscious team! This role is responsible for planning, developing, and writing eLearning training content for the organization. This includes meeting with business process owners to understand course requirements, preparation of storyboards and construction of eLearning courses (most typically using Articulate software).
Job Description:
- Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner always
- Support instructional design needs across all Clean Harbors.
- Understand cognitive flow, chunking, and sequencing of information in a manner best suited to meet the learning outcomes.
- Analyze instructional design project requirements and work with the SME around scope and solution.
- Design, develop and edit online course content using various authoring tools.
- Design interactive eLearning content including activities and assessments to enhance learner engagement.
- Create storyboards and design specifications to be used as blueprint instructions for content development.
- Write scripts for eLearning content and video.
- Analyze, update, and refine existing online content.
- Communicate accurately and succinctly with other team members.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, team members, and project managers to understand course requirements, key learning objectives and audience definitions.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and provide recommendations to improve learner engagement and content retention.
- Escalate any issues affecting the timeliness or scope of the instructional design/development project.
- Expertise in industry-standard design or authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and Synthesia.
- Experience in managing multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of LMS.
- Experience with HTML and audio and video editing software preferred.
- Work towards continuous skill enhancement through mentoring and training.
Qualifications
Skill/Expectations:
- 5 10 years of experience as an Instructional Designer/ eLearning developer
- Robust working knowledge of Articulate 360 and Synthesia
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Good writing skills, and organizational and operational understanding
- An eye for detail and a knack for storytelling
- Able to work independently
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
