Senior Engineer EV Traction Motor Design, Development, Analysis & Simulation

Location: - Olectra Plant, Seetharampur.

Experience:-

- 5 to 6 years of experience in EV traction motor, design, development, simulation and sizing for automotive applications.

Education

- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Machines, Electrical Drives.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform traction motor sizing based on vehicle performance requirements, including acceleration, gradeability, top speed, and drive cycles.
- Design,develop, and optimize PMSM and Induction Motors (IM) for electric buses, trucks, and commercial EVs.
- Develop motor specifications, including torque-speed characteristics, efficiency maps, power ratings, and thermal limits.
- Perform electromagnetic, thermal,



and mechanical simulations to optimize motor performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with inverter, motor controller, gearbox, and vehicle integration teams for complete EV powertrain development.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production readiness.

Technical Skills

- EV motor sizing and performance calculations.
- PMSM & Induction Motor (IM) design.
- Electromagnetic, thermal, and NVH analysis.
- Motor efficiency mapping and optimization.
- MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, Altair Flux, or equivalent simulation tools.
- Knowledge of traction inverters, FOC, automotive standards, and DVP&R.;
