Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cloud FinOps professional with 8+ years of IT/Cloud experience covering 5+ years of Oracle, AWS & Azure experience and 3+ years focused on multi-cloud Cloud FinOps to drive cloud financial management, cost optimization, governance, and transparency across cloud environments. The role will define and operationalize Cloud FinOps framework and practices, improve cost efficiency, align cloud spending with business value by bridging the gap between engineering, finance, and leadership.

Job Duties

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cost Optimization & Rightsizing

- Analyze cloud consumption patterns to identify waste, underutilized resources, architectural inefficiencies and anomaly detection.
- Drive engineering teams to implement rightsizing, modernizing architectures (e.g., IaaS to PaaS), and resource lifecycle management.
- Drive strategy & execution of Reservations, Savings Plans, and Hybrid Benefit portfolios to maximize coverage and ROI.

2. Financial Governance & Accountability

- Design, implement, and maintain robust tagging, resource group, and management group architectures for accurate cost allocation.
- Partner with Finance to build granular show-back/chargeback models, ensuring business units are accountable for their cloud spend.
- Establish automated budgeting, forecasting models, and anomaly detection alerts using Cloud native Cost Management and/or third-party Cloud FinOps tools.
- Stakeholder & operating model: Partner with Cloud engineering Leaders, App owners, Finance and Leadership to build FinOps processes, KPIs, unit economics, Optimization roadmaps, and monthly FinOps reviews.

3. Culture & Collaboration (The FinOps Framework)

- Act as the subject matter expert to evangelize a cost-conscious culture across engineering and product teams.
- Lead regular FinOps review meetings with engineering squads, providing actionable insights and dashboards.




- Define and track key cloud unit metrics to align cloud spend with business growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Cloud Expertise: 8+ years of hands-on IT/Cloud experience with 5+ years in cloud architectural design, deployment, or administration of Oracle/AWS/Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Kubernetes, Container Apps, WebApps, Cloud DBs, PaaS etc.).
- Deep expertise in Cloud Cost Management, In-built Advisor tools, Reservations, Savings Plans, Policy, Monitor, Log Analytics, Resource Graph, Management Groups, Landing Zones, RBAC, tagging strategy, and governance across IaaS/PaaS/SaaS workloads.
- Dedicated FinOps Experience: 3+ years of deep focus on Cloud Financial Management (FinOps) principles, framework lifecycle (Inform, Optimize, Operate), and FinOps practices.
- Tooling Proficiency: 3+ years of experience on Cloud Native Cost Management + Billing + Advisor tools, and Power BI for custom financial reporting. Experience with third-party Cloud FinOps tools (e.g., CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability) is a plus.
- Automation & Scripting: Strong ability to automate cost-governance guardrails using Policy, cloud native Automation, PowerShell, or CLI.
- Certifications (Highly Preferred):
- Oracle Cloud Administrator or AWS Solution Architect Associate or Azure Administrator Associate.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner or FinOps Certified Professional is a plus

- Soft Skills:



Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into financial impacts for business stakeholders, and vice versa
- Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education:

- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Systems or equivalent field preferred

Experience:

- Eight (8) or more years of experience with Cloud administration is required
- Four (3) or more years of hands-on experience in Cloud FinOps is required
- One (1) or more years of experience developing PowerBI dashboards / Excel based dashboard is preferred
- Four (4) or more years of experience in leading and driving initiatives
- Demonstrated experience working as a team player

Software:

- Deep knowledge in Cloud Native Cost Management + Billing, Cloud Advisor tools, and Excel/Power BI for custom financial reporting
- Deep knowledge in IaaS and PaaS technology
- Good knowledge in FinOps framework and processes, and capabilities preferred
