Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Economist / Macro & FX Research Analyst to join our Commodities Research team. The role involves tracking global and Indian macroeconomic developments, forecasting currency pairs, assessing the impact of macro events on commodity prices, and presenting actionable market insights to clients. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a structured research approach, and the ability to communicate complex macroeconomic developments to senior business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor global and domestic macroeconomic developments including growth, inflation, monetary policy, fiscal policy, trade, geopolitics, and capital flows.
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts for USD/INR, Dollar Index, and other key macroeconomic indicators.
- Analyse the impact of macroeconomic developments on commodity markets, including metals, energy, petrochemicals, agriculture, and precious metals.
- Prepare research reports, outlooks, presentations, and market commentaries.
- Conduct scenario analysis and identify key macro risks affecting corporate procurement and treasury decisions.
- Present research findings to corporate clients through review meetings, webinars, and executive presentations.
- Engage directly with finance, treasury, and senior management teams to explain market outlooks and respond to analytical queries.
- Support business development initiatives through research-backed presentations and client discussions.




- Maintain macroeconomic databases and continuously enhance forecasting frameworks and research methodologies.

Desired Skills

- Strong understanding of macroeconomics, international finance, foreign exchange markets, and monetary policy.
- Sound knowledge of economic indicators, central bank policies, balance of payments, interest rates, and global financial markets.
- Ability to interpret economic data and convert it into actionable business insights.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and report-writing abilities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of DBIE, Refinitiv, CEIC, Trading Economics, or similar databases will be an added advantage.

Qualification

- Master's degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Econometrics, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CFA, FRM, or equivalent skilled qualifications will be preferred.

Experience

- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in macroeconomic research, foreign exchange analysis, economic forecasting, treasury advisory, investment research, or commodity research.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing macroeconomic forecasts and presenting market views to clients or senior management is essential.
