Responsible to inspect and verify the fit-up of structural fabrication components as per Fabrication drawing, Work Instructions and standards, and prepare inspection report in respective Formats.
- Carry out fit-up inspection of structural members as per fabrication drawings, Work Instructions and QAP requirements.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, orientation, edge preparation, root gap, hole locations, and Excel before welding.
- Ensure correct material identification and member traceability.
- Prepare and maintain fit-up inspection reports in Register/Excel/SAP.
- Identify the fit-up non-conformities/issues.
- Coordinate with production, welding, and QA/QC teams to resolve fit-up issues and minimize rework.
- Provide guidance and on-the-job training to fitters to improve fit-up quality and fabrication practices
Preferred candidate profile
- Knowledge of Fabrication Drawing
- Knowledge of measuring instruments and its limitations
- Knowledge of material traceability system
- Knowledge of Joint preparations for Welding
- Knowledge of Raw material and Fabrication tolerances and its standards ( AWS D1.1, MBMA, IS 7215, IS 2062, ASTM A572, etc.)
- Knowledge to understand the QAP requirements
