Job Summary

The Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned science lessons for students in Grades 8–10. The role focuses on fostering scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and practical laboratory skills while creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes academic excellence and student development.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective science lessons aligned with the prescribed curriculum.
- Teach science concepts through theoretical instruction, practical experiments, demonstrations, and project-based learning.
- Develop lesson plans, teaching materials, assessments, and laboratory activities.
- Assess, evaluate, and monitor student progress through assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
- Provide timely feedback and academic support to help students achieve learning objectives.
- Maintain a safe and well-organized science laboratory, ensuring compliance with laboratory safety procedures.
- Encourage scientific inquiry, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.




- Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methodologies into classroom instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Identify and support students with diverse learning needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic performance.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings, career development programs, and school events.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, grades, and student performance.
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Organize or support science fairs, exhibitions, clubs, field trips, and other co-curricular activities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field.
- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) or equivalent teaching qualification (preferred or required, depending on school policy).
- Valid teaching license/certification where required by applicable regulations.

Experience

- Minimum of 2–5 years of teaching experience in Science at the middle or secondary school level (preferred).
- Experience teaching students in Grades 8–10 is an advantage.
