Job description

- Clinical Dialysis Care:
- To provide dialysis nursing care to kidney patients with a specialized focus on infection prevention.
- To perform dialysis as per nephrologist order, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Monitor and assess vital signs of dialysis patients and monitor patient reaction to treatment interventions.
- Assisting dialysis catheter insertion procedures while enforcing maximum sterile barrier precautions.
- Administer medication as prescribed by nephrologist or physician using secure injection practices.
- Infection Control & Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor infection control policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures specific to the dialysis unit.
- Oversee the proper cleaning, high-level disinfection, and sterilization of dialysis machines, equipment, and the RO water treatment system.
- Ensure strict compliance with isolation protocols for patients with bloodborne pathogens (e.g., Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C) or other infectious diseases.
- Conduct regular audits of the dialysis unit to ensure compliance with hand hygiene, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) usage,



and biomedical waste management.
- Administration & Education:
- Maintaining dialysis documentation and records, including tracking, investigating, and reporting any healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) to the committee.
- Maintaining emergency drugs and equipment.
- Checking expiry dates of drugs and returning in time and document it.
- Reporting the events to the physician and the Quality Assurance team.
- Train and educate dialysis nursing staff, technicians, and housekeeping staff on current infection control protocols and best practices.
- Health education to patient and families, specifically regarding personal hygiene, vascular access care (fistula/catheter), and infection prevention at home.
