Key Responsibilities
Library Management & Operations
- Manage, develop, and oversee the smooth daily operations of the senior wing library serving classes VI-XII students
- Maintain and develop a comprehensive library collection aligned with CBSE curriculum requirements and senior student academic needs.
- Supervise library staff and coordinate schedules, ensuring adequate coverage during school hours
- Manage library budget, procurement of resources, and maintain inventory through the library management system.
### Teaching & Learning Support
- Design and deliver information literacy, research skills, and digital literacy sessions for senior students
- Conduct library orientation programs for new students and coordinate class visits with subject teachers
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate library resources into curriculum delivery and project-based learning
- Promote reading culture through initiatives like book clubs, author interactions, competitions, and literary events
### Student Engagement & Development
- Track student reading patterns and identify reluctant readers requiring intervention support
- Develop student leadership programs and monitor library usage to enhance engagement
- Create visually stimulating displays, thematic exhibitions, and promotional materials to encourage reading
- Provide personalized guidance to students for academic research, competitive exam preparation, and recreational reading
### Technology & Systems
- Maintain the library automation system
- Leverage ICT tools to enhance library services and promote digital resources effectively
- Oversee responsible usage of library equipment including computers, printers,
e-readers, and digital resources
### Administrative Functions
- Prepare periodic reports on library usage, resource acquisition, and program outcomes for school leadership
- Organize special events such as Book Fairs, World Book Day celebrations, and literacy weeks
- Ensure compliance with school policies regarding student behavior, safety, and safeguarding protocols

## Essential Qualifications
*Educational Requirements:*
- Master's Degree in Library Science / Library & Information Science from a recognized university
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Arts/Science/Commerce)
*Experience:*
- 10-15 years of progressive library experience in reputed educational institutions
- Minimum 5 years' experience working with senior school students (Classes IX-XII preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in library automation, collection development, and student literacy programs
*Skills & Competencies:*
- Robust knowledge of CBSE curriculum requirements and age-appropriate resources for adolescents
- Proficiency in library management software and MS Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi (written and spoken)
- Ability to inspire students and promote a love for reading across diverse learner groups
- Leadership skills with experience in staff supervision and team coordination
## Desirable Qualifications
- UGC-NET qualification in Library Science
- Membership of professional bodies such as ILA (Indian Library Association) or CILIP
- Experience in CBSE-affiliated or DPS network schools
- Knowledge of Accelerated Reader, Star Reading, or similar reading assessment programs
