The Maintenance Engineer leads and supervises the plant's maintenance team, ensuring all mechanical and electrical equipment shredders, grinders, hot press, cold press, heater unit, CNC machine, and forklift — operates safely, reliably, and at full efficiency. This role brings hands-on production floor maintenance expertise to guide the team on correct maintenance practices, diagnose and resolve recurring or complex issues, and build a disciplined, proactive maintenance culture on the shop floor.

- Demonstrate and train the team on correct maintenance procedures, standard practices, and secure work methods.
- Review and approve maintenance plans, blade-change schedules, and repair priorities.
- Step in hands-on for complex breakdowns or issues the team cannot resolve independently.
Troubleshooting & Root Cause Analysis
- Diagnose recurring or complex mechanical and electrical faults across plant machinery.
- Identify root causes of breakdowns (not just symptoms) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate quality or output issues linked to machine performance (e.g., press pressure, blade wear, heater consistency) and resolve at source.
Preventive Maintenance & Planning
- Own and continuously improve the plant's preventive maintenance calendar across all machines.
- Plan spare parts, blades, and consumables requirements to avoid stock-outs and unplanned downtime.
- Track machine performance/downtime data and drive initiatives to improve uptime.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce lock-out/tag-out and safe work practices across all maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, electrical safety, and general factory safety norms.
- Maintain maintenance records, logs, and documentation for audits and management review.
Requirements

- 5+ years of hands-on production floor maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics, recycling, or similar process industry preferred).
- Proven ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults.
- Prior experience supervising or leading a maintenance team.
- Strong working knowledge of hydraulic press systems, motors, control panels, and industrial cutting/grinding equipment.

Work Conditions
- Factory floor role with regular time on the shop floor alongside the team.
- Availability for on-call/emergency breakdown support outside normal hours.
