- Manage end-to-end procurement of direct/production materials as per production plan, ensuring on-time, in-full (OTIF) supply to the shop floor.
- Translate MRP/production schedules into purchase orders; track open PO status and expedite critical items to avoid line stoppages.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers for Electrical parts, Foam, Hardware, Casting, Press parts in coordination with quality and engineering teams.
- Release and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and blanket/Kanban call-offs in the ERP system (SAP/Oracle or equivalent).
- Monitor supplier delivery performance, quality (PPM/rejections), and capacity; drive corrective action through PPAP/8D processes for non-conformances.
- Conduct supplier capacity analysis and OEE-adjusted assessments to validate ramp-up feasibility for recent programs or volume increases.
- Coordinate new part development and localization with suppliers, ensuring APQP/PPAP timelines are met for new model launches.
- Track and control inventory levels of direct materials,



minimizing working capital while avoiding stock-outs.
- Maintain and update the vendor master, rate contracts, and price history; ensure compliance with company purchase policy and IATF 16949 documentation requirements.
- Prepare MIS reports on cost savings, supplier performance, delivery adherence, and inventory days for management review.
- Build strong cross-functional coordination with Production Planning, Quality, Stores, Finance, and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA).
- Coordinate GRN with stores
- Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors
- Coordinate rejection/rework feedback loops with vendors
- Track tooling/mold amortisation schedules where applicable
- Support new vendor development in this category (Chakan/Talegaon corridor mapping)
- Track import duty/FTA benefit claims on relevant shipments
- Coordinate inbound logistics shipment tracking, delay escalation
