Role & responsibilities

- Oversee the operations of the toolroom, ensuring all machine, tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures are available and maintained for production.
- Identify & record any problems relating to process & Quality system.
- Implement preventive maintenance and storage protocols for tools to ensure longevity and efficiency.
- Participating in feasibility review for New RFQ's & Contract review for Recent Orders.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management system for tool inspection and calibration.
- Work closely with production teams to develop new tools or improve existing ones based on design modifications.
- To take necessary action to control Non-conforming products.
- Providing inputs to process engineering on measurement plan such as Inspection stages, gauges, frequency of measurement etc,. While new part development or changes. Lead the machine maintenance operations, ensuring timely maintenance, repair, and calibration of production machines.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to reduce breakdowns and production downtime.
- Maintain records of all machine repairs, calibrations, and replacements, ensuring ISO 9001 compliance.
- Oversee compliance with ISO 14001 (Environmental) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) in maintenance activities.




- Conduct root cause analysis for machine & tool failures and implement corrective actions.
- Lead a team of design engineers to develop new tooling and improve existing designs to enhance production efficiency. Ensure GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and precision in tool design.
- Collaborate with R&D; and production teams to design and prototype new products and tooling solutions.
- Ensure all designs meet international standards and customer requirements are captured in FMEA records.
- Manage procurement of new tools, equipment, and spare parts while ensuring cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Ensure all toolroom, machine maintenance, and design activities comply with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 45001 (Safety), and ISO 13485 (if applicable for medical tools).
- Implement 55 and lean manufacturing principles to improve workplace efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead internal and external audits related to toolroom and machine maintenance operations.
- Analyze and reduce operational costs in toolroom, machine hospital, and design functions.
- Drive continuous improvement (Kaizen, Six Sigma, TPM - Total Productive Maintenance) in tooling and maintenance processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop teams across tool room, maintenance (machine hospital), and design departments.
