Production Chemist is responsible for supervising and executing manufacturing operations, ensuring product quality, maintaining production records, monitoring process parameters, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

- Execute batch manufacturing as per approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR).
- Monitor and control process parameters such as temperature, pressure, pH, flow rates, and reaction times.
- Ensure optimum utilization of raw materials, utilities, and manpower.
- Coordinate with operators and shift personnel for smooth plant operation.
- Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.

Quality & Compliance

- Ensure products meet quality specifications and process requirements.
- Follow SOPs, GMP, ISO, and company quality standards.
- Coordinate with the QC department for sampling, testing, and batch release.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and logs.

Safety & Environment

- Follow all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) procedures.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals.
- Conduct safety inspections and report unsafe conditions.
- Participate in emergency response and safety training programs.

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain production reports,



shift reports, and inventory records.
- Prepare daily production summaries and performance reports.
- Record deviations, incidents, and corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement

- Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
- Support plant trials, scale-up activities, and new product introductions.
- Participate in productivity and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- B.Sc. Chemistry / M.Sc. Chemistry / Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
- 15 years of experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, specialty chemical, water treatment, or manufacturing plant.
- Freshers with strong academic background may also apply.

Required Skills

- Knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of GMP, ISO, and safety regulations.
- Valuable analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts.
- Basic knowledge of MS Excel and production documentation.
- Strong communication and team coordination skills.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in chemical reactors, distillation, blending, chlorination, or water treatment plants.
- Knowledge of batch process manufacturing and process troubleshooting.
