Role & responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Brand Alignment

- Manage and develop a robust supplier network for valve automation components, including international OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) and authorized domestic distributors.
- Standardize accessory procurement to align with customer approved vendor lists (AVL) typically required by major oil & gas, power, and chemical consultants (e.g., EIL, NTPC, BHEL, Reliance).
- Negotiate Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), price lists, and annual quantity contracts to leverage buying volume and secure price stability.

2. Technical Evaluation & Product Compliance

- Collaborate with Electrical, Instrumentation, and Proposals teams to interpret customer datasheets and technical specifications.
- Ensure all procured accessories strictly comply with international and hazardous area certifications:
- Explosion-proof/Flameproof: ATEX, IECEx, PESO (C/CCOE India)
- Functional Safety: SIL 2/SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level)
- Ingress Protection: IP66, IP67, NEMA ratings

- Manage the validation and testing documentation (Material Test Certificates, Calibration Reports) provided by accessory manufacturers.

3. Cost Management & Value Engineering

- Conduct total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis, factoring in customs duties, freight, and currency fluctuations for imported electronics.




- Drive localization initiatives to substitute expensive imported components with high-quality, certified domestic alternatives where permitted.
- Analyze market trends for electronic components, raw materials (aluminum, stainless steel for actuator casings), and logistics costs.

4. Supply Chain Operations & Project Expediting

- Ensure high On-Time Delivery (OTD) to prevent project delays, as accessories are usually the final bottleneck in valve assembly.
- Coordinate with logistics and custom clearance teams for smooth inbound movement of imported instrumentation (handling ICEGATE, custom duties, and high-sea sales if applicable).
- Monitor supplier capacity and lead times, proactively managing risks associated with global semiconductor or electronic component shortages.

Preferred candidate profile

- Product Knowledge: Solid technical understanding of:
- Smart/Digital Positioners (HART, Foundation Fieldbus, Profibus protocols)
- Actuators (Pneumatic diaphragm, piston, electric, and electro-hydraulic)
- Accessories (Solenoid valves, Limit switch boxes, Air Filter Regulators, Volume boosters, Quick exhaust valves)

- Import/Export Awareness: Familiarity with Indian customs regulations, HS Codes for electronic instrumentation, and import documentation.
- Software: High proficiency in ERP systems (SAP MM / Oracle) and MS Excel for data analytics.
