A Production & Fabrication Engineer is responsible for planning, supervising, and improving manufacturing and fabrication activities while ensuring quality, safety, and timely project completion. The engineer must possess strong technical knowledge of fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, bending, rolling, machining, assembly, and piping. They should be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, P&ID;, and BOMs accurately.

The engineer should have experience in production planning, manpower allocation, material management, inventory control, and scheduling to achieve production targets efficiently. Knowledge of welding processes (MIG, TIG, ARC, SAW), material properties (MS, SS, CS, Alloy Steel), and quality inspection methods is essential. Familiarity with measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators is also required.

A valuable understanding of quality management systems, ISO standards, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and workplace safety practices is highly desirable.



The engineer should ensure compliance with safety regulations, proper use of PPE, and adherence to fabrication quality standards.

Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities are necessary to resolve production issues and improve operational efficiency. The candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and engineering software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks. Knowledge of ERP systems is an added advantage.

Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills are essential for coordinating with design, purchase, QA/QC, stores, and project teams. The engineer should be capable of preparing production reports, monitoring fabrication progress, conducting inspections, supporting commissioning activities, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. A proactive attitude, attention to detail, and commitment to delivering high-quality work within deadlines are key attributes for success in this role.
