Shipping Manager

Department: Supply Chain
Reporting To: Cluster Logistics Manager

Job Purpose

Lead end-to-end dispatch, warehouse, inventory, and transportation operations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of finished goods. Drive operational excellence through productive logistics, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch & Logistics

- Ensure timely dispatch of finished goods as per the approved plan.
- Achieve OTIF (On-Time, In-Full) deliveries through coordination with Production, Sales, Transporters, and C&F; teams.
- Monitor dispatch schedules and resolve operational bottlenecks.

Transportation Management

- Plan and optimize transportation to improve service levels and control freight costs.
- Manage transporters, vehicle availability, transit performance, and freight billing.
- Resolve delivery issues, shortages, damages, and customer complaints.

Warehouse & Inventory

- Manage warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, FIFO compliance, and optimum stock levels.
- Conduct cycle counts and physical stock verification.
- Improve warehouse utilization, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Safety & Compliance





- Ensure compliance with safety standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct safety audits and drive a zero-accident culture.

Team Management

- Lead warehouse, dispatch, transport, and contract labour teams.
- Plan manpower, develop team capabilities, and drive performance.

MIS & Continuous Improvement

- Publish operational MIS and KPI dashboards.
- Analyze performance metrics and implement cost and process improvement initiatives.
