We are seeking a highly motivated Datacom Test Automation Engineer with robust expertise in Python automation and network protocol testing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in validating networking features, developing automated test frameworks, and testing routing and switching protocols across enterprise or telecom networking environments.
The role involves designing and executing automated test cases, analyzing network behavior, validating protocol compliance, and collaborating with development teams to ensure high-quality networking products.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python-based automation frameworks for network feature validation.
- Develop automated test scripts for Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking features.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and system testing of networking products.
- Validate TCP/IP protocol stack behavior across various network scenarios.
- Test routing protocols including OSPF and BGP.
- Validate switching features such as VLANs, STP/RSTP, trunking, and Layer 2 forwarding.
- Analyze network traffic using packet capture tools such as Wireshark.
- Perform protocol verification, interoperability, and scalability testing.
- Develop automation scripts for network device configuration and verification.
- Execute automated and manual test cases and generate detailed test reports.
- Investigate defects, perform root cause analysis, and work closely with development teams for issue resolution.
- Participate in test planning, test strategy, and requirement reviews.
- Maintain test environments and continuously improve automation coverage.
- Support CI/CD integration for automated test execution.
