Senior Financial Analyst / Principal Financial Analyst Topline (Revenue) Finance
Location: India (Bangalore / Noida) Level: IC30
Role Summary
As an IC30 (Senior/Principal-level individual contributor) in Topline Finance, you will own end-to-end revenue analysis, bookings, ARR, forecasting, and reporting for a significant portion of Adobe's business. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong technical finance skills, business acumen, and the ability to independently manage complex analyses while partnering with senior stakeholders across geographies. You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, set the analytical agenda for your area.
Key Responsibilities
- Revenue Forecasting Reporting: Own the monthly/quarterly revenue forecast process for assigned product lines or segments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with corporate guidance.
- Business Partnering: Act as a trusted finance partner to Business Unit and Sales leaders, providing data-driven insights on bookings, billings, ARR, churn, and revenue trends.
- Variance Analysis: Drive deep-dive analysis of actuals vs. forecast vs. plan, identifying key drivers of performance and articulating "so what" insights to leadership.
- Executive Reporting: Prepare materials for executive staff and Board-level reviews, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable narratives.
- Annual Long-Range Planning: Lead the topline components of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-range strategic planning processes.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to forecasting models, reporting tools, and data pipelines (e.g., leveraging Adobe's internal BI/analytics tools) to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with multiple stakeholders across the Organization to ensure consistency of revenue recognition, bookings definitions, and reporting metrics.
- Ad-hoc Analysis: Respond to leadership requests for scenario modeling, competitive benchmarking,
and special projects with quick turnaround and high rigor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA/CA/CFA preferred.
- 8 12+ years of progressive experience in FPA, revenue/topline finance, investment banking, or corporate finance, ideally within a SaaS, software, or technology company.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, bookings, churn, net revenue retention) and revenue recognition principles (ASC 606 or equivalent).
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Anaplan, Hyperion/Essbase) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on ambiguous, complex problems with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills able to distill complex data into transparent insights for senior/executive audiences.
- Experience working with global, cross-functional, and cross-time-zone stakeholders (India US collaboration).
- High attention to detail combined with the ability to see the big picture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a large, publicly listed technology/software companys finance organization.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or other data analysis tools is a plus.
- Familiarity with Adobe's product portfolio (Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Experience Cloud) is an advantage.
