About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Spring Boot Engineer to join our engineering team supporting a strategic engagement, a leading enterprise SaaS company known for building cloud-native, data-centric enterprise platforms.
In this role, you will take ownership of designing and delivering high-quality backend services that power enterprise-scale applications. Working alongside architects, product managers, DevOps engineers, QA, and globally distributed engineering teams, you will contribute to the design and implementation of scalable microservices, event-driven systems, and resilient APIs.
This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, influencing engineering decisions, mentoring junior developers, and building highly available, performant, and secure software solutions.
Job Summary
As a Senior Java Spring Boot Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of backend services while owning end-to-end delivery of medium to large engineering initiatives. Beyond writing high-quality code, you will actively participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, performance optimization, production support, and continuous improvement initiatives
You will collaborate across multiple engineering teams to ensure software solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and aligned with enterprise engineering standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, testing, and deployment of backend services and microservices.
- Design and develop scalable RESTful APIs following enterprise API standards and best practices.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions with minimal supervision.
- Design modular, reusable, and maintainable software components following clean architecture principles.
- Collaborate with architects and product teams to evaluate technical approaches and implementation strategies.
- Optimize application performance through efficient algorithms, database tuning, caching strategies, and asynchronous processing.
- Design and implement event-driven solutions using messaging technologies where appropriate.
- Review code to ensure maintainability, scalability, security, and adherence to engineering standards.
- Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Investigate and resolve production issues while performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to technical documentation, design specifications, and engineering standards.
- Participate actively in sprint planning, backlog grooming, estimation, retrospectives, and architectural discussions.
- Promote engineering excellence through automation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend practical improvements to the engineering ecosystem.

Required Qualifications
Education

- Experience with relational databases and SQL optimization.
- Hands-on experience working with distributed systems.
- Experience using Kafka or RabbitMQ in production environments is preferred.
