About the Role

Orchids The International School is seeking a creative and passionate Visual Art Teacher to inspire students through artistic exploration and self-expression. The ideal candidate will nurture creativity, imagination, and critical thinking while helping students develop foundational and advanced artistic skills in a supportive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging visual art lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
- Teach a variety of art forms, including drawing, painting, sketching, sculpture, printmaking, craft, mixed media, and design concepts.
- Introduce students to art history, renowned artists, and diverse artistic styles and techniques.
- Encourage creativity, originality, and artistic expression through project-based learning.
- Assess student progress through portfolios, practical assignments, classroom participation, and exhibitions.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment that promotes creativity and collaboration.
- Organize and display student artwork through exhibitions, competitions, school events, and annual functions.
- Maintain art supplies, equipment, and studio/classroom resources while ensuring adherence to safety practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and school leadership to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects and school initiatives.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, faculty training sessions,



and other school activities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts (BFA), Visual Arts, Applied Arts, Art Education, or a related field.
- Master's degree in Fine Arts (MFA) is an added advantage.
- B.Ed. is preferred for school teaching roles.
- Prior teaching experience in a CBSE, ICSE, IB, or other recognized school board is preferred.
- Robust portfolio demonstrating artistic skills and creative work.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.

- Strong knowledge of various art techniques, materials, and creative processes.
- Ability to inspire creativity and build confidence among students of different age groups.
- Familiarity with digital art tools, graphic design software, or creative technology is an added advantage.
