About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer with strong exposure to Utilities, EPC, Infrastructure, or Engineering Services domains. The candidate will be responsible for developing scalable BI solutions, transforming complex engineering and operational data into actionable insights, and supporting data-driven decision-making across engineering projects and utility operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, publish, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI.
- Build robust data models using DAX and Power Query (M Language).
- Integrate Power BI with multiple enterprise and engineering systems including SQL Server, SAP, Primavera, SCADA, SharePoint, Azure, APIs, and IoT platforms.
- Design dashboards for:
- Project cost, schedule, and resource tracking
- EPC lifecycle reporting
- Asset performance and maintenance analytics
- Utility operations (generation, transmission, distribution)
- Reliability and outage analysis

- Collaborate with engineering, planning, operations, and project management teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements.
- Optimize dashboards for performance, scalability, and usability.
- Manage Power BI Service components including workspaces, gateways, datasets, deployment pipelines, and governance.
- Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and ensure secure access management.




- Automate data refreshes and maintain high data quality standards.
- Support data transformation, validation, and cleansing across multiple engineering data sources.
- Ensure compliance with project governance, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills

- Strong experience in Power BI development within Utilities, EPC, Infrastructure, or Engineering Services environments.
- Expertise in:
- Power BI
- DAX
- Power Query / M Language
- Advanced SQL
- Data Modeling

- Experience handling large engineering and operational datasets.
- Robust understanding of project controls data including cost, schedule, and resource management.
- Knowledge of utility operations such as power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Experience integrating Power BI with SAP, Primavera, SCADA, IoT, or similar enterprise systems.
- Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Good to Have

- Experience with Microsoft Azure services such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse, IoT Hub, or Stream Analytics.
- Exposure to Power Platform tools including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Knowledge of EPC project lifecycle, earned value management (EVM), and cost control.
- Familiarity with GIS/spatial analytics and visualization.
- Understanding of data governance and compliance standards in utilities.
