Role & responsibilities

A. Refinery Process Operations

- Monitor and control refining unit operations (DGM, NTRL, BLCH, DOD, Winterization/Fractionation).
- Optimize process parameters such as temperature, vacuum, FFA reduction, colour, moisture, and yields.
- Ensure effective operation of PLC/SCADA-based automated refinery systems.
- Coordinate with production team for smooth shift operations.

B. Process Optimization & Efficiency

- Continuously analyze refinery KPIs:
- FFA loss
- Steam consumption
- Power consumption
- Bleaching earth usage
- Deodorization efficiency

- Implement process improvements for cost saving & higher throughput.
- Support energy optimization & TPM initiatives.

C. Quality Assurance

- Ensure product quality meets AWL norms and FSSAI/ISO/HACCP standards.
- Work with QA/QC for in-process analysis (PV, IV, Colour, Moisture, FFA, NI).
- Analyze deviations and implement corrective actions.

D. Equipment & Safety Management

- Support preventive maintenance planning (with maintenance team).
- Troubleshoot operational issues with vessels, heat exchangers, vacuum systems, pumps, and filters.
- Maintain high compliance with GMP, HACCP,



ISO 9001, 14001, 45001.
- Ensure safe operation of steam systems, hot oils, chemical handling, and utilities.

E. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain process log sheets, production reports, SAP entries.
- Prepare daily, monthly performance reports (yield, loss, energy).
- Participate in internal/thirdparty audits (ISO, FSSAI, customer audits).

Preferred candidate profile

Technical Competencies

- Robust knowledge of edible oil refining processes.
- Understanding of heat transfer, mass transfer, and reaction engineering.
- Experience in PLC, DCS, SCADA monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems, steam boilers, utilities, and CIP operations.
- Ability to analyze process data and drive improvements.

Educational Qualifications

- B.Tech / B.E. in Chemical Engineering / Oil Technology / Food Technology

Experience

- Process Engineer: 3-5 years refinery experience
- Senior Process Engineer: 5-10 years experience, preferably in edible oil industry (Refining, Hydrogenation, Fractionation)
