Role Overview

We are seeking a DBT Lead to drive and own the analytics engineering layer using dbt (data build tool). This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data models that support analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making. The DBT Lead will also mentor team members, define best practices, and collaborate closely with Data Engineering, BI, and Business teams.

Key Responsibilities

DBT & Analytics Engineering

- Lead the design and implementation of dbt models (staging, intermediate, marts).

- Define and enforce dbt standards, best practices, and model governance.

- Develop scalable, reusable, and performant SQL-based dbt transformations.

- Implement dbt tests, freshness checks, and documentation to ensure data quality.

- Optimize dbt runs for performance, cost, and maintainability.

Architecture & Data Modeling

- Design and maintain dimensional and analytical data models (star and snowflake schemas).

- Translate business requirements into reliable analytics-ready datasets.

- Ensure metric consistency and adherence to data modeling standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

- Serve as technical lead for analytics engineering initiatives.

- Mentor, coach, and review work of analytics engineers and developers.

- Collaborate with Data Engineers, BI teams, Product Managers,



and Business stakeholders.

CI/CD, Governance & Support

- Implement CI/CD pipelines for dbt using Git and dbt Cloud or Core.

- Enforce version control, code reviews, and deployment best practices.

- Monitor production dbt jobs and resolve data quality or performance issues.

- Ensure analytics data reliability, SLAs, and governance compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

- Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Cloud or Core).

- Advanced SQL expertise.

- Experience with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Synapse.

- Strong understanding of ELT pipelines and up-to-date data architectures.

- Experience with Git-based development workflows.

Additional & Preferred Skills

- Experience with dbt Semantic Layer or metrics frameworks.

- Exposure to BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.

- Knowledge of orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.

- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
