Position Details

Job Title: Factory Accountant
Department: Finance & Accounts
Reporting To: Factory Finance Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Veppur, Near Virudhachalam, Tamil Nadu

Educational Qualifications

- B.Com / M.Com / MBA (Finance)
- Good computer proficiency, especially MS Excel

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in Finance & Accounts
- Prior experience in a manufacturing plant or factory environment is preferred

Role Summary

The Factory Accountant will support the Finance & Commercial functions at the manufacturing plant by managing day-to-day accounting operations, statutory compliance, documentation, inventory accounting, and financial reporting. The role will work closely with the Factory Finance Manager to ensure accurate financial records, robust internal controls, and timely closure of books.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting

- Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately within defined timelines.
- Support monthly closure of plant books.
- Ensure compliance with Ind AS and company accounting policies.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and cost control activities.

Commercial & Payment Operations

- Process vendor payments after required verification and approvals.




- Prepare Purchase Orders after validating documentation and obtaining approvals.
- Track and record cost centre-wise expenses in coordination with various departments.
- Monitor receivables and payables and reconcile customer and vendor statements.

Inventory & Asset Accounting

- Maintain accurate accounting of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Support physical verification of inventory and fixed assets.
- Maintain and update the Fixed Asset Register (FAR).
- Ensure accurate stock accounting and inventory reconciliations.

Statutory Compliance

- Handle GST accounting, reconciliations, and support monthly GST return filings.
- Record TDS deductions and assist in quarterly TDS return filings.
- Maintain statutory registers and compliance documentation.
- Support internal audits, statutory audits, and compliance reviews.

Banking & Cash Management

- Record bank transactions and perform periodic bank reconciliations.
- Monitor fund utilisation.
- Manage petty cash, employee reimbursements, and imprest accounts.

Documentation & Vendor Management

- Assist with vendor onboarding and KYC documentation.
- Maintain complete accounting records, audit schedules, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate with Head Office and cross-functional teams for financial information and reporting.
