Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced JBoss EAP Migration Engineer to support the migration of enterprise applications from JBoss EAP 7.4 to JBoss EAP 8.0. The role involves application modernization, resolving compatibility issues, and ensuring seamless deployment across environments. The candidate will work closely with development, infrastructure, and QA teams to deliver a reliable and high-performing platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and support migration of applications from JBoss EAP 7.4 to 8.0 ( incl. JAVA 8 to JAVA 17)

- Analyze existing applications for compatibility and migration impact
- Perform code refactoring to address Java EE (javax) Jakarta EE (jakarta) changes
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to:

- - EJB components
- SOAP/REST web services
- Deployment and configuration errors

- Update and manage JBoss configurations (standalone/domain mode)

- Work on build and dependency management using Maven/Gradle [We are using Maven]

- Support SIT, UAT, and Production deployments
- Participate in war room calls and provide timely issue resolution
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (App, Infra, DB, Security)
- Document migration steps, issues, and solutions

Required Skills

- Strong experience in JBoss EAP 7.x and 8.x ,



Spring Boot (3.X version)

- Proficiency in Java, Java EE / Jakarta EE
- Hands-on experience with:

- - EJB, JPA, JMS, Web Services (SOAP/REST)

- Experience in application migration / modernization projects

- Strong knowledge of Maven

- Experience in Linux environments (RHEL preferred)
- Good understanding of JBoss CLI and server configurations
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

Preferred Skills

- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, etc.)
- Exposure to containerization (Docker/OpenShift)
- Familiarity with performance tuning and monitoring tools
- Experience working in Agile environments

Soft Skills

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments (war room scenarios)
- Proactive problem-solving attitude
- Good documentation and reporting skills

Nice to Have

- Prior experience in large-scale enterprise migrations
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Knowledge of automation tools (Ansible, scripting)
