About the Role

Flexcar is looking for a Senior Platform (DevOps) Engineer to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure, developer tools, and observability systems that power our applications. You ll work closely with software engineers, data engineers, and security stakeholders to ensure our platform is simple, scalable, cost-efficient, and easy to build upon.

This is a hands-on technical role where you ll take ownership of critical platform projects including cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, monitoring observability, and developer experience. You ll report directly to the Director of Engineering and play a key role in shaping the direction of the platform as we continue to scale Flexcar s business.

What You ll Do

- Design, implement, and manage our infrastructure platform on AWS using Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and related tooling.
- Drive improvements to our observability platform using Open Telemetry and the Grafana stack (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana).
- Collaborate with the Security team to improve posture, compliance, and best practices across our infrastructure and CI/CD platforms.
- Work with the Data Engineering team to support the data infrastructure needs and maintain platform integrations with analytics pipelines (e.g., NiFi, dbt, Redshift).
- Work with the engineering team to improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, ensuring quick, secure, and reliable deployments.




- Develop and enforce infrastructure-as-code and configuration-as-code standards.
- Monitor and optimize AWS costs, proactively identifying opportunities for savings.
- Contribute to the developer experience by improving tooling, automation, and documentation.
- Willingness to support production infrastructure out of hours as needed.

What Were Looking For
- 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.
- Deep understanding of AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.) and Kubernetes operations.
- Strong experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).
- Hands-on experience implementing observability solutions (metrics, logs, traces) using OpenTelemetry and Grafana tools.
- Proficiency with GitHub and GitHub Actions or similar CI/CD tools.
- Familiarity with cloud cost management and right-sizing practices.
- Experience collaborating with security and data teams.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to lead initiatives from concept to production.
