Quality Control (Horticulture & Landscaping)

Role Purpose

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-driven individual with a keen eye for detail, who is passionate about ensuring that the Quality Management requirements are met and exceeded for all aspects of Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies and is able to multitask and prioritize using good time management skills and exhibits leadership skills by being accountable and responsible.

Scope

Quality Management System (QMS):

- Help develop, implement, improve, and monitor the Quality Management System (QMS) for Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies, including management of all related documents like Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) / Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) / Checklists / Work Instructions / Method Statements at project sites.
- Inspection / Checking of all Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies works are as per Specifications, approved GFC / Landscape / Architectural Drawings, and Quality Standards set by TE Landscape Design Team & Architectural Design Team.

QMS Documents & Other Technical Submittals:

- Development & preparation of SOPs / Quality Documents / Checklists / Method Statements / ready reckoners, Quality Control Formats, Training Material / Content, and others in a timely manner
- Review of Procedures, Drawings, Technical Submittals, Material Specifications and area of application.
- Maintenance of documentation & records i.e., checklists, reports, formats and others for Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies as required.
- Guide QC Engineers for all QMS documentation (Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies) requirements.
- Develop a Team of Horticulturists for QC foremen / technician supervisors for each project (as applicable)

Workmanship Inspection & Material Testing / Inspections:

- Inspections / checking of both internal and external Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies up to final handover in Villas / Apartments to ensure works are as per approved Drawings, Technical Specifications, and & using approved materials.
- Guiding the Operations Team / QC Engineer for inspections / checking of materials & workmanship to ensure compliance with established Criteria, Specifications, Drawings, Methodology, having requisite documentation / records for their acceptance / rejection.
- Technical analysis of mock-ups for approval / sample approval of materials applicable for Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies




- Ensure the materials are as per specification & approved brand at the time of arrival and ensure they meet the quality standards as per TE Landscape and Architectural Design Teams requirements.
- Ensure implementation of TE QMS Processes for Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies like WIR, MIR, NCR, etc,

Audits & Assessments

- Conducting audits to monitor compliance of material, manpower, workmanship & process with records.
- Carrying out stage inspections / assessments, provide stage clearances for work progress, and quality assessments of completed Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies works.
- Undertaking technical audits and site assessments on a regular basis and highlighting deviations / non-conformances through NCRs & Observation Reports.
- Mitigation of quality risks by managing CAPA and closure of deviations / non-conformances / observations.
- Carry out the vendor technical evaluation.
- Assessment of material applicable for Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies and their implications in case of deviations.

Training:

- Developing training modules / presentations / content and conducting training sessions on Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies topics to Operations Teams / Contractors, including resolution of existing Quality issues to prevent their recurrence.
- Conduct training and development programs as per organizational requirements.

Meetings:

- Conducting / attending meetings to address / resolve Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies related issues on site and providing technical solutions to quality issues (with guidance and reference standards).
- Organize / attend Quality Review Meetings at site and HO, and record / action minutes of the same to highlight issues to concerned authorities. co-ordination and follow up with them to resolve the same.
- Attend progress / project review meetings and discuss Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies related quality issues with the Management.

Reporting & Coordination:

- Reviewing the Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies aspects of the Fortnightly and Monthly Reports generated by the site QC.
- Compiling data from site inputs for report preparation for the Quality Team and Management.
- Preparation of quality inspection reports / other quality documents for projects.
- Guiding / supporting the QC Engineer & Operations Team for ensuring effective coordination between the Civil + MEP personnel at site with Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies works execution Teams for smooth execution of the work.
- Coordinating with all other departments with respect to quality requirements for Horticulture, Landscaping,



Irrigation & Waterbodies
- Technical interactions with contractors and other relevant agencies as applicable based on instructions from the TE QA Team

Ownership and Accountability:

You shall be accountable for the following in your work:

- Build, implement and monitor the Quality Management System (QMS) for Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies works.
- Work is carried out as per approved Methodology, Drawings, Codes / Standards using approved / tested materials.
- Inspection and testing of incoming materials relevant to Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies
- Ensuring all inspections are carried out with high attention to detail to develop snag-free units.
- Ensuring timely realization of all quality deliverables.
- Advise / oversee the work of QC Engineers at site.
- Support QA Managers and HOD in QA activities related to Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies
- Testing of systems with respect to operational / functionality of irrigation and waterbodies.

Requirements:

Key Skills

- Plant Health Management: Monitor and manage soil nutrition, irrigation schedules, and integrated pest management (IPM). Oversee pruning, fertilization, and disease control.
- Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge of plant identification, biology, soil science, and irrigation techniques.
- Team Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise gardeners and horticultural staff. Allocate daily work schedules and ensure safety protocol adherence.
- Budgeting & Procurement: Prepare annual operational budgets and manage the procurement of seeds, fertilizers, and tools. Coordinate with vendors and manage contracts for landscape maintenance.

Education: A Bachelors or masters degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, or Botany is typically required.

Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in professional horticulture or landscape management.

Certification: Qualified certifications like a Certificate in Horticulture Nursery Management can enhance employability.

Knowledge:

- Technical Skills & Competencies:
- Relevant exposure to Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies for high end residential construction.
- Experience and knowledge on QM Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies S, QA/QC in all aspects of MEP.
- Knowledge of applicable IS codes / standards / specifications / drawings.
- Well versed in tools, and techniques relevant to Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies
- Must be able to identify design issues during review of drawings, specifications, BOQ and other technical documents with respect to Horticulture, Landscaping, Irrigation & Waterbodies
- MS Windows, MS office and AutoCAD.
- Should be physically fit to operate on construction sites.
