Job Summary:
- We are looking for a highly skilled Logistics Manager (Strategic Role) with robust expertise in import/export operations, market intelligence, and data analysis. This role is responsible for optimizing global logistics, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leveraging analytics to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- The ideal candidate will have experience in international trade, customs regulations, and supply chain strategy while driving process improvements and digital transformation in logistics.
Role & responsibilities
1. Strategic Logistics & Supply Chain Planning
- Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with global business goals.
- Optimize import/export operations to minimize costs and enhance efficiency.
- Strengthen supply chain resilience by analysing risks and developing contingency plans.
- Integrate data analytics and AI-driven solutions to improve logistics performance.
2. Import & Export Operations Management
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and INCOTERMS.
- Manage import/export documentation, trade agreements, and tariff structures.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory agencies.
- Optimize ocean freight, air cargo, and cross-border transportation for cost efficiency.
- Handle duty drawback claims, EOU, free trade agreements (FTAs), and HS code classifications.
3. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Monitor industry trends, global trade policies, and competitor logistics strategies.
- Analyze market fluctuations in freight rates, fuel costs, and supply chain disruptions.
- Identify opportunities for cost-saving and new trade routes.
4. Data Analytics & Performance Management
- Develop KPI dashboards to track logistics performance (cost per shipment, OTIF, inventory turnover, transit time, etc.).
- Utilize predictive analytics for demand forecasting and planning.
- Leverage data-driven insights to optimize routing, warehousing, and inventory levels.
5. Process Improvement & Digital Transformation
- Implement automation, AI-driven logistics, and ERP solutions for efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Work with cross-functional teams (procurement, finance, compliance) for seamless supply chain integration.
6. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Negotiate and manage contracts with freight forwarders, carriers
- Ensure compliance with international logistics policies and sustainability initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with government agencies, customs officials, and trade partners.
Preferred candidate profile
- 10+ years of experience in logistics, international trade, or supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of import/export regulations, trade compliance, and customs processes.
- Experience in handling global freight forwarding, international shipping, and supplier negotiations.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP, and data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Understanding of HS codes, INCOTERMS, Letter of Credit (LC), and international taxation.
- Expertise in predictive analytics, demand forecasting, and cost optimization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
