Responsibilities

The Role - Power System Simulation Engineer.

Design Development

- Develop simulation models for auxiliary power systems.
- Conduct Steady State load flow, short circuit, Harmonic Study, Protection Relay Co-ordination study in ETAP/ DIgSILENT Power Factory or equivalent software.
- Conduct lighting calculations in Dialux/ Relux softwares.
- Analyse Power Demand, Energy Flow and load interactions under various operating conditions.
- Validate simulation models, Refine simulation models for improved accuracy.
- Trouble shoot/apply corrective measures to resolves the modelling errors in the software.
- Ensure models and tools comply with engineering standards Employer requirements.
- Collaborate with respective engineers to gather the inputs for simulation.
- Conduct Earthing designs as per IEEE 80 EN 50122 and Earthing Bonding studies in CDEGS Software.
- Conduct Lighting Protection designs as per IEC 62305.
- Should have strong Power System Design Knowledge (in voltage levels 220 kV, 132 kV, 33 kV, etc.).
- Conduct insulation co-ordination studies.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations throughout the design Simulation process.

Technical Documentation

- Produce Simulation Reports, supporting calculations independently.
- Prepare technical documentation for tender submissions and procurement processes.

Collaboration Coordination

- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, to gather the inputs for simulation.
- Coordinate with clients, suppliers,



and contractors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of design deliverables.
- Review and approve designs from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure alignment with project standards and requirements.

Quality Assurance Compliance

- Perform quality checks and peer reviews of design/simulation work to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Ensure designs are compliant with industry standards such as IEC, IEEE, and local regulations.
- Participate in design review meetings and provide technical input to resolve design-related issues.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in Power System Simulations.
- Robust understanding of auxiliary power supply systems, power distribution, and emergency power systems.
- Ability to interpret Schematics, Electrical diagrams and component data sheets.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, IEEE, BS, NFPA).
- Strong Expertise in ETAP/ DIgSILENT Power Factory or equivalent software is must.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication documentation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
