Job Summary
The Senior Registrar Anaesthesiology is responsible for delivering high-quality perioperative anaesthesia care, supporting consultants during routine and complex surgical procedures, managing critically ill patients, and ensuring patient safety throughout the perioperative period. The role also includes participation in ICU, emergency services, pain management, academic activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
Role & responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive pre-anaesthetic evaluations and assess patients' fitness for surgery.
- Formulate and implement anaesthesia plans under the guidance of consultants.
- Administer general, regional, and monitored anaesthesia care for surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Monitor patients during the intraoperative period and manage anaesthesia-related complications.
- Provide post-operative care, including pain management and recovery room supervision.
- Perform airway management, vascular access, resuscitation,
and emergency life-support procedures.
- Maintain accurate anaesthesia records and clinical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, infection prevention practices, NABH/JCI standards, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in departmental academic programs, CMEs, clinical audits, mortality and morbidity meetings, and research activities.

Preferred candidate profile
Qualification
- MBBS from a recognized institution.
- MD/DNB in Anaesthesiology from a recognized university/institution.
- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) or Karnataka Medical Council (KMC).
