B) Job Description

- Excellent Greenplum/PostgreSQL architecture and database maintenance knowledge
- Hands on experience with Greenplum / PostgreSQL database V6.X
- Monitor data distribution to identify data skew, also monitor vacuum and analyze needed on objects
- Resource queue design for multiple workload prioritizing
- Manage segments, recover segments during segment crash
- Manage GP backup using DD Boost/commvault and restore
- Perform POCs on various restore methodologies
- Manage database and client host connectivity using pg_hba.conf
- Proficient with gpfdist for data loading
- Excellent shell and sql skill for DBA tasks automation




- Valuable knowledge on postgres to support greenplum database
- Assist application developer teams in design and performance tuning
- Establish and advise users on database specific best practices
