Essential duties and responsibilities

- Collect blood samples from patients for investigations in one prick.
- Practice proper patient identification, especially when working on hospital floors.
- Fill the lab test requisition form.
- Work on the Hinai software and barcode printing for labeling of vacutainers.
- Operate the pneumatic tube system for sending the sample from the collection site to the lab.
- Maintain the stock for the collection areas.
- Answer basic queries of the patient coming for collection regarding the reports and should be able to guide the patient appropriately.
- Do basic data entry of the samples in the lab.
- Follow instructions given to them by the doctors/technicians/customer care.
- Answer the phone calls as required at the reception desk.




- Maintain the required patient's records in soft and hard copies.
- Expect to work with a large number of patients varying in age and health status.
- Transport all specimen samples safely in case of home collection to the laboratory.
- Keep the phlebotomy cart / kit or station well-organized at all times.
- Practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment.
