About the role:
The Global Process Owner (GPO) for Procure-to-Pay (PTP) is a senior strategic leadership role within
the Enterprise Finance & Accounts Solution and SSC and acts as the enterprise-wide custodian of
the end-to-end PTP process. The scope of accountability spans the full PTP value chain Vendor
Master Management, Purchase Requisition and Purchase Order processing, Goods and Service
Receipt, Invoice Processing and Validation, Exceptions and Dispute Management, Payment
Execution, and Supplier Reconciliation
The GPO acts as the primary bridge between business strategy and operational execution, owning
the process design, governance architecture, and continuous improvement agenda for PTP globally.
The incumbent is expected to bring deep domain expertise in F&A; operations, a solid
understanding of digital technologies (ERP platforms, AP automation, P2P suites), and the leadership
acumen to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders across functions.
This is a highly visible, enterprise-critical role that demands both a strategic mindset and the ability
to translate vision into measurable outcomes. The GPO will play a pivotal role in global
transformation programmes, technology adoption, and the standardization of PTP processes across
all business units and markets.
Objective of the Role:
• Establish and maintain a globally standardized, efficient, and compliant PTP process
framework aligned to enterprise strategy and industry benchmarks.
• Define, design, and champion PTP process solutions as part of the RFP, transition,
and ongoing client engagement lifecycle — translating client requirements into
structured, scalable delivery models.
• Define and govern the process architecture, policies, controls, and performance
metrics for end-to-end PTP across all geographies and business entities.
• Lead PTP digital transformation initiatives, including ERP optimization (SAP
S/4HANA, Oracle Cloud), intelligent automation (RPA, AI/ML-based invoice
processing), and supplier collaboration platforms.
• Act as the strategic authority on PTP process design, driving standardization,
harmonization, and best practice adoption enterprise-wide.
• Deliver measurable value through cost reduction, working capital improvement,
compliance uplift, and enhanced supplier experience.
Key Responsibilities Areas:
• Process Strategy & Governance (30%)
- Own the global PTP process blueprint — defining standard operating
procedures (SOPs), process hierarchies, and control frameworks across all
entities.
- Drive policy formulation and maintenance for PTP-related compliance
requirements including three-way matching, delegation of authority (DoA),
and vendor master management.
- Partner with Internal Audit, Risk & Compliance to ensure process controls
meet SOX, IFRS, and local regulatory requirements — embedding a zero-risk-
tolerance mindset and proactively eliminating control gaps that create
exposure for clients and the organisation.
- Define and own the PTP process performance framework — KPIs, SLAs,
benchmarks — and ensure transparency through governance dashboards and
executive reporting.
- Benchmarking of PTP process with peers and industry standards ensuring the
organisation's process offerings remain current, competitive, and aligned to
evolving client and industry expectations.
- Establish and chair the Global PTP Governance Council, comprising BU Heads,
Delivery Leads, Procurement, and Finance stakeholders to drive cross-
functional alignment and issue resolution.
• Digital Transformation & Solution Design (25%)
- Define and lead the digital transformation strategy for the PTP vertical, with a
focus on achieving touchless invoice processing, AI/ML-enabled exception
management, and end-to-end process intelligence across client accounts
- Partner with the MYNDX Technologies to co-define the PTP technology
roadmap — ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, data
governance standards, and client IT environments — and drive the
continuous enhancement of proprietary tools to meet evolving process
efficiency and client experience requirements.
- Own and lead PTP solution design across the full client engagement lifecycle
— from RFP response and due diligence through to solution blueprinting,
transition, and steady-state optimisation — ensuring client objectives, voice-
of-customer insights, and delivery team feedback are translated into
structured, differentiated service propositions.
- Engage proactively with clients to co-design and co-deliver process
transformation initiatives that migrate operations from current-state
baselines to world-class process standards, leveraging proven BPO delivery
methodologies and digital accelerators.
- Drive adoption of cognitive automation, machine learning tools, and
predictive analytics to enhance invoice processing, exception management,
and working capital forecasting.
• Stakeholder Alignment & Change Leadership (20%)
- Build strong executive-level relationships with CFO, CPO, CTO, CIO, and PTP
Finance leaders to secure sponsorship and alignment for PTP transformation
priorities.
- Lead change management efforts for PTP programmes — stakeholder
mapping, communications planning, resistance management, and adoption
tracking.
- Act as the escalation point for complex PTP issues, disputes, and exceptions
requiring strategic intervention across regions and business units.
- Represent the enterprise in external benchmarking forums, industry bodies,
and peer networks to bring in best practices.
• Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
(25%)
- Define, track, and report against strategic PTP metrics: Cost per Invoice,
Invoice Processing Cycle Time, First-Time Match Rate, Early Payment
Discount Capture, and Supplier Satisfaction.
- Lead global continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Lean, Six Sigma,
and digital tools to eliminate waste, reduce processing cost, and enhance
process resilience.
- Establish a global PTP community of practice, driving knowledge sharing,
capability development, and standard methodology adoption across delivery
teams.
- Conduct periodic global process audits and maturity assessments,
benchmarking against best-in-class standards and developing improvement
roadmaps.
