Job Summary:

The Design Engineer Plastic Trim will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of plastic exterior and interior trim components for two-wheelers. The role involves concept development, CAD modelling, feasibility studies, tooling coordination, and support through prototype and mass production stages while meeting quality, cost, and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development

- Design and develop plastic trim parts such as body panels, fenders, side covers, front/rear cowls, covers, consoles, and garnish parts
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings as per standards
- Ensure DFMEA, DFA, and DFM considerations in part design
- Apply knowledge of plastic materials, wall thickness, ribs, bosses, draft angles, snap fits, and fastening concepts
- CAD & Engineering
- Work with CAD tools such as SolidWorks
- Prepare engineering drawing GD&T; and tolerance stack-ups
- Perform basic section analysis, draft analysis, and interference checks

Validation & Quality

- Support prototype build, fitment checks, and functional validation
- Address issues related to warpage, sink marks, surface finish
- Support PPAP, APQP, and engineering change management

Cross-Functional Collaboration





- Work closely with styling, quality, manufacturing, and sourcing teams
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

- Should have a robust knowledge of plastic part design guidelines
- Must have a good Understanding of injection molding process
- Must have a good understanding of GD&T;
- Experience with two-wheeler trim architecture and assembly concepts
- Familiarity with OEM standards and validation processes

Software & Tools

- SolidWorks
- Siemen NX is an added advantage.
- MS Excel, PowerPoint

Soft Skills

- Good communication and coordination skills
- Problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work in fast-paced product development cycles

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with two-wheeler OEM or Tier-1 supplier
- Exposure to Class-B engineering / plastic parts
