Purpose/Objective

The Raw Material Incharge (GU) is responsible for overseeing the procurement, storage, and management of raw materials used in cement production.
This role ensures a continuous supply of high-quality materials, manages inventory levels, and maintains strong relationships with suppliers.
The Raw Material Incharge (GU) also implements strategies to optimize material utilization and reduce costs while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Raw Material Procurement and Management: Oversee the procurement of raw materials, ensuring that all materials meet the required quality specifications and are sourced from reliable suppliers.
Manage the storage and handling of raw materials, ensuring that they are stored correctly to prevent contamination or degradation.
Inventory Management and Optimization: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, ensuring a continuous supply for production while minimizing excess inventory and reducing carrying costs.
Implement inventory control systems to track material usage and identify opportunities for optimization.
Supplier Coordination and Relationship Management: Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of raw materials, addressing any supply chain issues that may arise.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring a consistent supply of high-quality materials.
Quality Control and Assurance: Ensure that all raw materials meet the required quality standards,



coordinating with the quality control laboratory for regular testing and analysis.
Implement corrective actions when quality deviations are identified, working closely with suppliers to resolve issues.
Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure that raw material handling and storage operations comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
Internal Control and Fraud Prevention: Implement and monitor internal controls within the raw material management process to prevent leakages, fraud, and operational inefficiencies.
Ensure transparency in all raw material transactions, maintaining accurate records and reporting all activities.
Team Leadership and Development: Lead, train, and develop the raw material management team, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and foster a collaborative work setting within the team.
Commercial Responsibility: Monitor and control costs related to raw material procurement and handling, ensuring that expenditures are aligned with budgetary constraints and financial targets.
Report on raw material costs,



usage, and inventory levels, ensuring accurate and transparent financial reporting.
Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship: Promote sustainable practices in raw material sourcing, exploring opportunities to use alternative materials and reduce the environmental impact of raw material usage.
Implement initiatives to reduce waste and improve the efficiency of raw material consumption.

Qualifications and Experience

Education Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering.
Work Experience: 8+ years of experience in raw material procurement and management within the cement or related industries, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Industry Knowledge: Proficient in raw material procurement, supplier coordination, and inventory management.
Strong understanding of material quality control, storage, and handling procedures.
