The company is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with more than 4 years of experience for a contract-based position. The role involves supporting existing product lines through sustaining engineering activities and participating in the design, prototyping, testing, and development of industrial products from concept through production.
Role & responsibilities
- Support existing products by resolving design-related issues, enhancing reliability, and implementing cost-reduction improvements.
- Manage the complete product development lifecycle for industrial products.
- Apply mechanical engineering and machine design principles to product creation and development.
- Develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using CATIA and Creo.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA documentation.
- Manage engineering changes through ECN and ECO processes.
- Lead prototype development and conduct testing to validate recent designs and product modifications.
- Apply DFX principles to improve manufacturability, assembly, serviceability, and cost efficiency.
Preferred candidate profile
- Strong expertise in CATIA and Creo for 3D modeling and drafting.
- Advanced knowledge of GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Understanding of engineering materials, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in design validation and failure mode analysis using DFMEA.
- Hands-on knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and simulation techniques.
- Minimum 4+ years of core experience in mechanical design engineering.
Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
