Role & responsibilities:

1. Strong knowledge in design of BIW welding lines & Welding processes. (Design knowledge of building lines for CIW, Locomotive, Heavy fabrication etc. will be an added advantage)

2. Good command over design of Spot & MiG welding fixtures, Grippers, Stationary welders, Part handling systems, conveyors and other peripheral equipment. receipt of all items prior to assembly.

3. Knowledge about Japanese & European jig standards.

4. Strong Knowledge about selecting and validating standard brought out parts.

5. Ability to identify long lead items in the early stage of the project and release for procurement.

6. Good Manufacturing process knowledge.

7. Valuable Project planning, scheduling & resource management skills

8. Must work with calculations and check sheets

9. Must be process driven individual

10. Must be a very good communicator to team, management and customer

Preferred candidate profile:

1. Proven experience in the area of design of BIW fixtures such as Spot-Welding jigs, Arc welding fixtures, Roller hemming fixtures etc.





2. Proven experience in leading a design team of about 20 members

3. Proven experience of working with different customers and standards

4. Proven experience in handling big lines and projects

5. Strong in GD & T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance) as per ISO / IS standards

6. Experience with working on PFMEA / DFMEA will be an added advantage

7. Experience in tackling major design challenges

8. Experience in costing estimation of fixtures and other elements will be an added advantage

9. Proven experience in estimation of design hours for a project requirement is desired
